Description

A hybrid denture is an implant-supported prosthesis that combines the features of fixed and removable dentures. It is used to restore full-arch edentulous jaws (upper or lower) and is anchored to dental implants using screws or attachments, providing a stable and functional replacement for natural teeth.

Unlike conventional dentures, a hybrid denture is fixed to implants and cannot be removed by the patient, offering enhanced stability, chewing efficiency, and comfort. It usually consists of:

  • Metal framework: Provides strength and support.

  • Acrylic base with teeth: Simulates gum tissue and natural teeth for esthetics.

  • Implant attachments: Secure the prosthesis to multiple dental implants.

Hybrid dentures are commonly used in All-on-4 or All-on-6 treatment concepts, providing full-arch rehabilitation with fewer implants.
