Description
Acrylic partial dentures are removable dental prostheses used to replace one or more missing teeth in a partially edentulous arch while preserving the remaining natural teeth. Unlike metal-based partial dentures, acrylic partials are primarily made from acrylic resin, which makes them lightweight, cost-effective, and easy to fabricate.
Base Material: Acrylic resin, which simulates gum tissue and supports the prosthetic teeth.
Artificial Teeth: Made from acrylic or composite to match the patient’s natural dentition.
Retention: Achieved using clasps, precision attachments, or rests that engage the remaining natural teeth.
Acrylic partial dentures are often used as interim or temporary solutions, but with proper design and care, they can also serve as long-term removable prostheses.
