Description
A Bite Block in removable dentures is a temporary occlusal appliance or wax rim used during denture fabrication to record the patient’s bite (occlusion) and jaw relationship. It helps the dentist or technician determine vertical dimension, centric relation, and occlusal alignment before the final denture teeth are set.
Material: Usually made of wax, acrylic resin, or thermoplastic material.
Purpose: Provides a stable platform to accurately measure and register how the upper and lower jaws relate.
Application: Used in full or partial removable dentures, especially during the trial stage of denture fabrication.
