Description
Denture Relining is the process of resurfacing the tissue-contacting side of a removable denture to improve its fit, comfort, and function. Over time, the alveolar ridge resorbs or changes shape, causing dentures to become loose or uncomfortable. Relining adapts the existing denture base to the current anatomy without fabricating a new denture.
Material: Relining can be done with hard acrylic, soft lining materials, or silicone-based reliners, depending on patient needs.
Purpose: To restore intimate contact between the denture and oral tissues for improved retention and stability.
Application: Used for full dentures, partial dentures, or flexible dentures experiencing fit changes due to ridge resorption or tissue remodeling.
