Description

Inlays and onlays are indirect restorations used in dentistry to repair decayed or damaged teeth, especially in the posterior (back) teeth. These restorations are custom-made in a dental laboratory and then bonded to the tooth, making them stronger and more durable than direct fillings. Inlays and onlays are designed to fit precisely and provide long-lasting restoration for teeth that require moderate to extensive repair but don’t need a full crown. The main difference between the two is that an inlay fills the area inside the tooth, while an onlay extends over the tooth’s cusps (the raised points of a tooth).
